Taryn Welch
I’m a stay at home mum and also a full-time therapist and health advocate for Bella who has cerebral palsy.
Hi! My name is Taryn and I am a wife and mother to Beauden (4y) and Bella (2y).
Through my internet research on possible therapies, I was fortunate and grateful to connect with another mum (whose daughter is a member of the trust), which led to our connection with BICT.
Bella is now a member of BICT and with the trust’s support, we engaged with Ian Hunter who developed a programme for her. I then began working closely with Shirley Wilson who helped mentor me on the pursuit of finding a village to assist with Bella’s therapy programme.
We have been running therapy sessions for Bella with the help of an amazing group of volunteers who have also been a support network for myself.
As Bella progressed and her goals changed, we also engaged with Phillip Fay to incorporate arm constraint therapy into our sessions.
We have seen incredible results with Bella’s developmental progress.
We know that the extra support from our village and the therapy programmes that we have been implementing with Bella are the reason why Bella is achieving so much success.
I am passionate about ensuring that other families are able to easily access the support they need to help their child achieve their best potential.
Would you like to help?
We are always looking for volunteers, sponsors, or donations to support us in improving the lives of brain injured children. Thank you for reaching out.
