Doman International issues Commendation for Shirley Wilson and BICT

The Chairperson and Trustees of Brain Injured Children Trust are absolutely thrilled to share the Commendation received by Shirley Wilson from Doman International this week.

Shirley is a founder of BICT and a true inspiration for the large team of volunteers who believe in the vision of improving the lives of children with brain injuries. Shirley supports our families every day, walking beside them on their NDTP journey. She is there for the highs and lows and motivates us all to do whatever we can to support our members to continue achieving their goals.

NDTP is an intensive home-based therapy programme where parents and caregivers become the therapists. It takes considerable time, effort, and financial resources to undertake these programmes but the results are wonderful. The Mooney family is one of our dedicated families working with Doman International, and supported by BICT, to help their delightful daughter Maggie achieve great results. We applaud their efforts as we know the commitment it takes to be consistent with NDTP.

Doman International is a vital institution to our organisation, offering children with special needs an opportunity to achieve key developmental milestones like talking, interacting with others, and walking.  There is no such organisation in New Zealand to support our families, so the determination of special people like Shirley Wilson and our BICT village, gives us all the drive to keep fundraising and raising awareness for the needs of our members and their whanau.

Thank you Shirley, and thank you to all Brain Injured Children Trust supporters.
